Slang là những từ hoặc cụm từ mang tính informal, đời sống hàng ngày; dùng với bạn bè, hoặc những người thân thiết. Ví dụ tiếng Việt có từ “trẻ trâu” - người ngoan cố, lì lợm, cố chấp, không chịu tiếp thu ý kiến. Thì tiếng Anh cũng sẽ có những cụm từ tương đương như vậy.
It’s all good = It’s okay: mọi thứ ổn thôi, không sao
Quên mang đồ
A: Oh my gosh, I forgot to bring you the book you’ve asked. I’m so sorry
B: Hey don’t worry about it, it’s all good. (= I’m not upset about it or disappointed, everything’s fine)
Bạn hẹn đi chơi mà bận
A: I’m so sorry, I can’t make it. I got stuck at the office.
B: Oh it’s all good.
we’re covered = we don’t need anything else
no worries = don’t worry, don’t worry about it
A: Oh no worries, it’s all good. Everything’s ok.
Khi ai đó làm gì sai, hoặc quên làm gì đó, và nếu mọi thứ không sao, một số bạn hay nói là “oh it’s no problems”.
Các bạn chỉ cần nói là “No worries, it’s all good”
sure things = yes, absolutely, of course: tất nhiên rồi
Can I come over later? Can we hang out?
Yeah, sure thing. I’m free
I’m good = no thank you, I don’t want what you’re offering
Normal: Hi how are you - I’m good. I’m doing great!

I got this/ I got it = I can handle this. I don’t need help: cứ để mình
Đi ăn với bạn, bạn rút ví trả:
A: Oh it’s okay. I got this = I’m going to pay for it
Đang bê một cái gì đó nặng, ai đó hỏi
A: Wow, that looks heavy. Do you need some help with that?
B: No no no, I got this. (I can handle it. I’m okay)
Will do = Okay, yes, agree.: được chứ, được thôi
Đồng nghiệp nhờ
A: Can you bring the paper by the office so I can sign it?
B: Yeah, sure thing, will do. = No problem, I will bring the paperwork by the office.
Khi making plans, ai đó nhờ làm gì, trả lời là “Sure thing. Will do” = I will do that, we will do that.
No way: thật á, không thể tin được
Positive: No way, I can believe that, that’s awesome
Negative: No way, seriously? They did that to you? Are you kidding?
That sucks (use with younger generation) = That’s so awful. I’m so sorry to hear that.
Oh, that sucks.
For real = seriously? are you kidding? really? are you sure?: thật á
Asking: Did that really happen?
Expression: That’s crazy. For real?
What the heck? = I can’t believe what’s going on (what the hell: nói nặng hơn). I’m not okay with this situation? I don’t like this.
Nice = cool. interesting. awesome. When you like something
You got a new job? Nice
You got a new car? Nice. It looks awesome.
Got it = I understand, that makes sense
